Big Fork MT to Wilson WY May 28

A long drive in front of us we started early along flathead lake. We planned to come back through Yellowstone Park into Wyoming. Unfortunately at Clear-Water-Junction Salmon Lake, I crashed into a big Ford RV. Bad luck and good luck at the same time. No injuries! The Fellow and his wife from Oregon were pretty laid back people and we solved the paperwork within 30 Minutes and continued our trips both with damaged cars. At least no police involved! We skipped the extra miles through Yellowstone and drove straight back over the Teton Pass into Wyoming.

RAM with crashed butt :-((
Craters of Moon National Monument.

We ended up enjoying Teton Thai to celebrate another successful roadtrip.

Home sweet home!
Well deserved Marg’s at Teton Thai.

Half way back to Stag’s Leap we spotted our first Black Bear of the season! We observed him having his supper for a while.

Summary of the Trip:

We enjoyed another wonderful time driving through this great country we both love so much. Two more States (Oregon & Washington) in our “State Collection”.

Caro and myself are ideal travel partners and looking forward to more adventures. You will hear from us next year !

Glacier National Park May 27

We stayed an extra night in Bigfork so we could venture into the Glacier National Park. ( Thank you Kristian for the great tip).

Unfortunately some roads were still closed due to snow which meant we did not see any of the glaciers up close. However the drive was beautiful! We did not hike as the area was affected by wildfire 2006 and is still recovering.

Lake St. Mary

On the way back to Big Fork, we were in discussion on where to have dinner which led Caroline drive too fast and receive a warning from a very nice MT State Trooper. Lucky her!!

We enjoyed our last night on the road with a beautiful dinner in our Tuscan villa and enjoyed the lake view one last time.
