We arrived safe and sound 3pm at Goldeneye. Caro and I had a wonderful time, learned a lot about this great country, couldn’t have asked for better weather, had lots of fun! Thank you, Caro, for an unforgettable trip!

Last day

After a good night sleep we woke up early and jumped back on the road to the “Grotto of the redemption” in West Bend IA. The best place to be on an Easter Sunday… Further west we stopped at “Sioux Falls” for a little walk. The “Badland national park” was the highlight of the day!…

On the road again! We left the “Windy City” early and headed west. A lunch break at Jason’s Clubhouse at one of the oldest Golf clubs in the country. After an 8 hours drive through nowhere we arrived in West Bend, Iowa. Found our place to stay over night in a former nuns monastery.

Toledo it is
8 hour driving and we found the best B&B. All to ourselves. It has a piano and a chapel. But the big question is which room to choose to sleep in? I think we will decide once we had dinner and a drink or teo along Erie Lake.

A wonderful day in the city of “brotherly love”!
The day started with a cup of coffee in a tiny little coffee shop before visiting the independence hall and the liberty bell. Two very touching places in this beautiful old town… followed by a 2.5 hours guided walking tour to the hidden secrets and a great dinner at “Cuba Libre”!

Alexandria ist 30 Minuten von Washington DC entfährnt. Es ist grün und da es in Virginia ist eigentliuch schon im Süden von Amerika. Freitag feiern wir den ersten Abend in Shirlington mit einer guten Flasche Wein und Virginia Fleisch. Danach ein Absacker bei Caros Bar. Let the adventure begin!
